On the 20th of October, we went to the grade 5 camp! First, we took a bus to the pier, and then a junk the rest of the way. When we got there we had to set up our tents which was hard work, but a lot of fun too!
There were a number of activities that we did, but I had 3 favorites. My very favorite activity was the tyrolean traverse. This was a great experience for me because it was a bit like a zip-line, and last year I didn't do the zip-line. I thought it would be scary, but it was anything but scary. It was REALLY, REALLY fun! I really enjoyed the part where you get to pull yourself along, even though it was a bit of a challenge.
My second favorite activity was the abseiling. It was really fun because about half way through, you got to just hang the rest of the way, by lowering yourself down.
And finally, my third favorite activity was rock climbing. It was really cool because there was 3 levels, easy medium, and hard, and you could do whichever one you wanted! First I did the hardest level, and by the time we had to leave, I had done the hard level 3 times! I also did the easy level 3 times, and the medium level twice. My favorite was the easy level because well... it was easy!
Another thing I enjoyed was the star adventure challenge. What it was, was a variety of challenges which you had to complete quickly, because you were up against the other teams. My favorite challenge was the one where we got to swim out to the pier. So fun!
Overall I had great time, and I wish I was going to the grade 6 camp!
